2017-2018 Winter Season
Early Sign Up Special!
The first 125 swimmers to register online will receive a stocking cap and a t-shirt. Once we are out of stocking caps we are out! Sign up early! These are limited edition and will not be available through the spirit store.
Practice Schedule
Practices begin November 13th and ending mid-February at the conference championships.
Practice schedule is similar to previous seasons – generally 4 days a week. This is meant to accommodate the busy family. Multiple days are offered with the expectation that your swimmer will be able to attend at least 3 practices a week (on average – we’re all busy families.)
NEW Practice Times for this season:
- Gold Group – 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Silver Group – 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM
- Bronze Group – 6:15 PM – 7:00 PM
- In order to participate in the NCST your swimmer must be able to compete in the distances for his or her age group:
- Swimmers competing 8 & under – swim 25 yards unassisted
- Swimmers competing 9 & up – swim at least 50 yards unassisted
- It’s possible coaches may change your swimmers group either up or down to adjust to your athlete’s ability.
- NCST is a competitive swim team.
- Your swimmer is expected to compete in swim meets. This is a personal challenge to improve your own times throughout the season.
- NCST is not swim lessons.
Note: Every season we have to balance the training groups depending on who signs up. It’s possible you trained with a different group last season and will be moved up or down this season. We won’t know until everyone has registered, but please be flexible. We want to keep similar ability and ages together.
New Events For This Season
- Because High School Girls can compete in the entire NCST season, the league will officially have events for girls 15 and over.
- For 8 and under relays, we’ll now have events for boys, girls and mixed relays to have more options for our athletes to compete.
Bronze Group (Novice)
The Bronze Group focuses on the fundamentals of competitive swimming. Swimmers are introduced to proper kick, streamline and correct stroke technique.
- Recommended for ages 10 and under, first and second year swimmers.
- Practices 6:15 – 7:00 PM (New times this season!)
Silver Group (Intermediate)
The Silver Group focuses on advancing stroke technique and aerobic conditioning. Swimmers prepare for swim competitions and develop racing skills and experience.
- Recommended for advanced swimmers ages 10 and under and swimmers ages 11 to 12
- Practices 6:00 – 7:15 PM (New times this season!)
Gold Group (Advanced)
The Gold Group focuses on aerobic conditioning and race preparation. Swimmers are introduced to aerobic and anaerobic training, race strategy techniques and advanced strength and conditioning skills.
- Recommended for advanced swimmers ages 12 and under, middle school and high school athletes.
- Practices 7:00 – 8:30 PM
New Swimmer Evaluation
First time swimmers must attend a New Swimmer Evaluation.
We will have New Swimmer Evaluations on the following nights.

Your swimmer must be able to compete in the distances for his or her age group:
