Championship B Meet Entries

Heat Wave!

Some notes about the Championship B Meet

  1. We will be doing our best to run a quick meet, make sure your athletes are ready.  Flyover starts and combined events – make sure they have their events written on their arms.
  2. The competition is going to be tough – 9 teams will be competing.
  3. The officials are more strict about proper stroke.
  4. Athletes can participate in only 2 individual events.  And they can only compete in an event they have already competed in during this season (a seed time).
  5. Each team can only have 1 relay per age bracket – so a few athletes will compete in a third event on the relays.
  6. There is no admission fee.
  7. Heat sheets will be $2
  8. Earthbound* should be here to print on demand Championship T-Shirts (Pro tip: order early.)
  9. Maui Wowi should* be here for fruit smoothies.
  10. Typically, the Championship Meet concludes your swimmer’s season.
  11. Practices next week is for A Meet swimmers only.
  12. See you at the End of Season Party –we’re still working with the school on a date.

* I say “should” because they both said they’d be here pending weather.  So we’ll see.

We still need some volunteers tomorrow!

We need your help!  It’s easy!  We’ll teach you.

1/26/19 Home Meet Entries

Brrr…It’s gonna be cold this weekend!  Luckily, you get to hang out in the warm humid pool Saturday morning.

This is an information and action packed email, please read through it all.

Saturday’s Meet

It’s us against Wayland, who have a small team.  And it sounds like Ludington is going to send a few swimmers too.  So, pending technology working, it should be a pretty quick meet.

Championship Meets

We’ll try and get results back out as soon as possible, so that you know if your swimmer is in the A Meet or the B Meet (more info below.)  We do need to know if you will be attending whichever Championship Meet your swimmer is qualified for by Monday at 6:00 PM.

B Meet Volunteers

We have lots of volunteer needs for the B Meet.  If you are available to help out, we need you.  If you’ve never volunteered before, this is your chance!  C’mon!  It’s Easy!  We don’t have the usual pool of volunteers, because some swimmers are in the A Meet.  So, really, if you can help out, we’d appreciate it!

Note from the Fitness Center

The fitness center is asking us to remind community members that you must be a member of the fitness center to use the track. Please honor those who are paying members by following these guidelines.

More Meet Information

  • Because they include so many teams, the conference meets are run differently than regular dual meets.  We will be competing with 8 other teams in our half of the West Michigan Swim League.  This also means they run a little longer – so be prepared.
  • At the B meet, there is no medley relay, only a freestyle relay.  Swimmers are allowed to swim 1 relay and 2 individual events.  However, each team may only enter 1 relay, so only 4 swimmers in each age/gender group will swim in a relay.
  • Everyone will be entered in their 2 individual events.
  • Swimmers may only swim events for which they have a seed time.
  • Because there are several officials at conference meets, disqualifications will be called on the technical aspects of each stroke, i.e., illegal kicks (common in breaststroke and butterfly).  Therefore, most swimmers will be entered in freestyle and backstroke events.
  • Generally, the Championship Meet signals the end of practices for your athlete.
