We’re Back! Practices Start Monday!

Sorry about the short notice.  The school gave us the final ok to get our swimmers back in the pool!  We needed a little time to make sure all our ducks were lined up, so to speak, but here we go!

Please read the details about this Fall Pre-Season carefully. This is not a regular season.  You know, unprecedented times and all.  Our plan is to dip our toes in the water, so to speak, with a short Fall Pre-Season, and if things go well, we will have a more traditional Winter season.

Here are some notes about this season:

  • Locker rooms will not be available at all
  • New practice times to limit swimmers on deck and in the pool
  • Each training group will be limited in number
  • This pre-season is limited to Northview students and children of Northview Public Schools employees only

And several other changes and updates so we can make this work.  And yet, we hope you can be flexible with us as we will certainly have to adjust as we work through the logistics.  So bear with us, we’re going to try it.  Hopefully everything goes swimmingly (har-har) and we’ll have some new opportunities for the Winter Season.

We look forward to seeing you!

We’re Thinking of You!

How about that snow today?  So much for spring, but it has to start any day now.

We hope you are staying healthy and safe and wanna let you know we miss you!

IF we are able to have a summer season we’ll let you know.  We are all eager to learn more about what comes next in regards to the Stay at Home order in Michigan.  For now, stay healthy, stay safe, stay home.

Special Free Swim Meet Event Tomorrow Night

Thursday night the Varsity Teams are having a special meet.  They’ve never done this type of event before.

It’s the Boys vs Girls Varsity Showdown.

The meet starts at 6:30 PM and is FREE!

The events will be a sprint style meet, so they’ll be fast and we expect the whole meet to be done in about an hour and a half.

This meet is an experiment and we’re working on a way to even out the playing field for the girls who are out of season and the boys who just started their tapers for their conference meet next week.

Varsity meets are a great way for your younger swimmer to see what can be accomplished at the High School level.

Several NCST Coaches and Alumni will be swimming.

We hope this is a fun meet and maybe the start of a new tradition.  We’d love to see you there.  Did we mention it’s free?

Missing Swim Already?

Here’s a note from Northview Community Ed about an upcoming clinic.

We have some very exciting news! We are proud to announce that we will be hosting a Fitter and Faster Butterfly and Breaststroke swim camp at Northview High School on April 18 & 19!

Our team can never get enough technique work on fly and breast. This is an excellent opportunity for our team to refine our technique and RACE FASTER!

Session sizes are limited. We cannot wait for this event and we strongly recommend everyone click the link below to read more about the curriculum and to register ASAP. We want all of our swimmers to learn from a three-time Olympian the techniques necessary to improve in these key parts of every race!

Prices will increase on February 27th!

CLICK HERE for details and registration

There will be two sessions each day, one for swimmers ages 11 and under and one for swimmers ages 12 and older. The curriculum each day will be:

April 18: Butterfly Technique

April 19: Breaststroke Technique

Sign up for one or SAVE by signing up for both days!

Each session will be led by Elite Clinician and three-time Olympian Glenn Snyders! Glenn is one of Fitter and Faster’s most popular and effective clinicians. We can’t wait for everyone to learn from him!

2/14-15/20 Championship A Meet Entries!

Championship A Meets are this weekend. Here we go!  It’s show time!  Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty.  Let’s get this show on the road!

Some notes about the Championship A Meet

  1. The competition is going to be tough
  2. The officials are more strict about proper stroke.
  3. Athletes can participate in only 2 individual events.  And they can only compete in an event they have already competed in during this season (a seed time).
  4. Each team can only have 1 relay per age bracket – so a few athletes will compete in a third event on the relays.
  5. There is no admission fee.
  6. Please remind your swimmer that the Warm Down pool is for warming down, this is not open swim time.  Don’t get worn out before the big event.
  7. Remember that Saturday morning we will be starting at event #37.  Don’t be late thinking that your swimmer doesn’t swim until later.
