Practices Start Tonight!

Well, it’s finally here, NCST Winter Season starts tonight.

Welcome back returning swimmers, hello to new swimmers!  See you tonight!

Practice Times for this season:

  • Gold Group – 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Silver Group – 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM
  • Bronze Group – 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Note: Every season we have to balance the training groups depending on who signs up. It’s possible you trained with a different group last season and will be moved up or down this season. We won’t know until everyone has registered, but please be flexible. We want to keep similar ability and ages together.

First Week & Bronze Group Coaches

Please bear with us this first week or two.  It’s always a little crazy until everyone settles into a routine.  Also our Bronze coaches are training this week for their State Swim meet.  We’ll have some substitute coaches this first week and will settle in next week.

Looking for something a little extra?  Jenison Aquatics is offering a Fitter Faster clinic.  See below for details.

Fitter and Faster Clinic at Jenison Aquatics – 11/24 & 11/25

Jenison is proud to announce that we have partnered with the Fitter and Faster Swim Tour to bring you all a  two-day swim camp  focused on the fastest parts of every race: the starts and turns!

This event will be at the Jenison High School Aquatics Center on November 24th and 25th.  We have a short week of practices this week, so here’s a chance to get some more pool time.

  • Session 2: 12 & Over Starts and Underwater Dolphin Kicking

November 25th:

Each session will be led by Olympian and coach to Olympians Brett Hawke. Brett has led Auburn University to win the National Championships twice as a swimmer and three times as a coach!

Joining Brett is Gabby DeLoof. Gabby swam at the University of Michigan and is a 5-time Big Ten Champion. She is also a member of the 2018 National Team! We can’t wait to learn from these two fantastic resources.

New Swimmer Evaluations and Sign Up Nights Tonight and Tomorrow!

Regular Practices Start Next Week!

Don’t forget, if you are a new swimmer to NCST, you must attend a new swimmer evaluation either tonight or tomorrow night.  These are drop in evaluations, you won’t be there the whole time.

Also, if you haven’t signed up online because you want to pay with a cash or check, tonight is your night.  If you have questions about NCST, drop by and ask them.

You only need to attend tonight or tomorrow if you are a new swimmer or you want to sign up in person.

Looking for something a little extra?  Jenison Aquatics is offering a Fitter Faster clinic.  See below for details.

NCST practices start next Monday!  All aboard the swim train!

New Swimmer Evaluation Tonight or Tomorrow Night

First time swimmers must attend New Swimmer Evaluation on November 5 OR November 6 from 6:00-7:15.

This is a drop in evaluation.  Your swimmer evaluation will take 10-15 minutes.  You will not be there for the whole time.

And, if y’all show up at 6:00 sharp, there will be a wait.

Bring your goggles and suit, ready to swim.

Your swimmer must be able to compete in the distances for his or her age group:

  1. Swimmers competing 8 & under – swim 25 yards unassisted
  2. Swimmers competing 9 & up – swim at least 50 yards unassisted

Coaches will determine which practice level is appropriate for your athlete.

Returning NCST Swimmers are also welcome to attend if you are unsure which practice group is appropriate for your swimmer’s skill level.

Note: Every season we have to balance the training groups depending on who signs up. It’s possible you trained with a different group last season and will be moved up or down this season. We won’t know until everyone has registered, but please be flexible. We want to keep similar ability and ages together.
